£250 for kitchen item

My dh has randomly been given £250 from his company which must be spent on a kitchen item (v random I know...)

Any ideas for what to buy? Any gadgets you can't live without?

Thanks!

Coffee maker?
Really good set of knives
Food processor

Chasingsquirrels · 25/01/2021 19:13

Presumably there is a back-story to this!

Does it have to be a single item?

Stand maker (kitchen aid or Kenwood).
New place settings & serving dishes.
Breadmaker, I understand Panasonic is one of the best.
Cordless vacuum (it could live in the kitchen/utility).
Extra freezer for garage.

OrigamiOwl · 25/01/2021 19:14

A good mixer? I've got a Kenwood chef that is really useful. KitchenAids always seem quite converted too.

MiddleClassProblem · 25/01/2021 19:14

Kitchen item or a specific shop?

FrogFairy · 25/01/2021 19:15

Pressure cooker - Instant pot electric or Kuhn Rikon stove top

Bamix stick blender, with Slicesy attachment if you fancy it.

Vitamix, though you will have to top up your budget for one of these

Magimix food processor.

purplejungle · 25/01/2021 19:15

Thanks all. Can be from any shop as far as I know but I think has to be a single item.

What about one of those hot water tap things that comes out boiling straight away? Or are they really a lot more expensive??

We bought a nice coffee machine. Bean to cup.

titchy · 25/01/2021 19:17

Set of global knives.
Very nice coffee machine.
Decent mixer.

FurryTurnipHead · 25/01/2021 19:18

Magimix for me too, I love mine, use it loads.

Serin · 25/01/2021 19:22

A pastel pink le creuset casserole dish.

Serin · 25/01/2021 19:23

Or a nice set of cutlery.

DorotheaDiamond · 25/01/2021 19:25

Find something random, buy it, take picture in kitchen, return, use money on something you actually want!

crazylikechocolate · 25/01/2021 19:27

What type of cooking do you enjoy and what would lift your life most ?

Neolara · 25/01/2021 19:28

Set of le creuset pans? Posh stand mixer. I've just bought a le creuset tns (non stick) frying pan, which I love and was insanely expensive. (But not £250).

Hurtandupset2 · 25/01/2021 19:29

Why so specific about what you buy?

Nanasueathome · 25/01/2021 19:30

Ninja foodi

purplejungle · 25/01/2021 19:32

@DorotheaDiamond haha we like this idea!

@Hurtandupset2 not sure really, some of the employees in another company all got a coffee machine, don't know why they've done it this way for those in the U.K.

These are really helpful ideas - thanks all!
