Hi,
I had the bcg vaccination when I was unknowingly pregnant (previously classed as infertile needing multiple rounds of ivf)
I'd of never had the vaccination if I thought I'd be pregnant.
I'm currently 10+4 and hopefully all is fine. I don't have my 12 week scan until I'm 14 weeks.
Pregnancy is consultant led due to previous complications with my son, also because I've had the bcg.
No one has been able to give me any information and I can't find anything online other than it's not recommended, unless the risk of infection is greater than the risk of the vaccination.
Naturally I'm terrified, I'm also working on covid wards so I'm also scared that the baby will have a lot to contend with if I caught covid.
Normally I can manage the anxiety but I'm feeling quite low now, I think it's because my scan is so far away and I have a lot going on so I think I'm looking for reassurance or even an idea of what I could be faced with.
I've spoke to my midwife and she literally said she has no idea, followed by "that's not good is it" I've also spoken to my Occupational health team who administered the vaccination and they also said they don't know if it would cause problems but obviously would rather I didn't have it while pregnant
