I had DS2 10 years after DS1. It's grand. DS1 adores his brother and is very helpful and protective of him. They're now 3yo and 14yo.

I had one of 8.5 when the second came along, they were brilliant together and are still close.

My sister is 8 years older than me. Obviously I was an annoying child at around 5-10, but it was great when I would stay with her at uni for the weekend, and the gap means nothing now as adults.
Plus my parents had a babysitter at home!

I have 19 years between my two. They adore each other but it is more an auntie relationship than a sibling relationship. My eldest doesn't live at home now so it is like having 2 only children for us.

I had a nearly 10 year gap, it’s lovely. They are grown up now and very close.

I have an 8 year gap. They are both adults now but the older one has taken on a more parenting role towards his brother as their dad has been absent.

MarshaBradyo · 25/01/2021 15:46

No it’s not I have a 15 yr old 11 and 3

They still behave like siblings. A lot if attention from older two is directed towards youngest. 11 yr old and 3 yr old play and15 yr old talks more and she goes in his room to play with his Lego and they chat.

My DH has two older sisters who were both in the mid to late teens when he came along. His father had been widowed so he was second wife’s only. They were never close at any time through life, rarely in touch though never any falling outs or anything, just distant. Recently the eldest one died & he never sees the other one who didn’t even attend the funeral though she lives locally.

11 years.

It's brilliant.

They are 18 and 6, almost 7 now.
They adore each other. And bicker.
It's lovely.

And of course I have 18 years between my eldest and the baby Grin

It's fab all round.

I have a 23 year age gap.
Everything was completely different second time around.
I'd forgotten how to change a nappy and make a bottle😂😂.
At 38 I felt ancient( two of dd1's friends had babies at the same time)
Dd2 is one of the best things to happen to us.
