Pharmacies are to now offer "Ask for Ani"

It doesn't seem to really have been publicised but pharmacies have launched a codeword scheme to offer ‘lifeline’ to domestic abuse victims. More info can be found in the link below.

Sounds like it could be a little step in the right direction for some, but obviously not all, folk affected by domestic abuse. I read the link article but not totally sure how it would actually work. Is it supposed to be like saying to whatever assistant on duty "could I speak to Annie" then you go to the back room for advice?

I think that's the idea of it. Maybe they chose pharmacies because they are a "legitimate" place to go to if you have a controlling partner and people from all backgrounds can go there (unlike pubs where under 18s shouldn't be there buying drinks and people from some cultures wouldn't go in either).
