Me my period and I...

I’m 39 so aware that entering a another decade of my life will obviously have effects (good? and bad) in my body, mind, health and general outlook. However what very noticeable is my period..I’m regular when it comes to the dates - 28-31 days, flow not heavy, three days high flow and the two or so of light. But my symptoms have just gone up a few notch, I’ve been tracking so here goes-
1).Migraine every month - either one day on the first 3 days or one day on the last 3 days
2). 7-10 days before period extremely tired, sleepy
3). 5-7 days before nausea and lightheaded
4). Elevated sense of smell and general yuckiness
5). Either not hungry at all or hungry all the time but don’t feel like eating
6). Feeling of anxiety
7). Heartburn

Do you go through these or do you find these familiar? Of course mood swings etc are common and had them most of my 30s but these are fairly new.

Im 38 and feel like I could have written the above! I never had any issues with the time of the month but the last year or two I’ve really noticed a change. Currently sat nursing a migraine and just feel like I can’t get enough sleep and feel zonked - although the latter may be lockdown related! I’d be interested to hear any advice too.

Yep I’m 41, the cramps are awful, feel quite sick with them. I have massive anxiety/tearfulness and the few leading days up to it and think about harming myself in weird ways in the first day (throwing myself in front of cars or climbing out the First floor window). Seems to have been a pattern in the last 3 years.

Ohand on the day it starts I can barely keep my eyes open.

Thank you @Esbm2015 @BashfulClam for your responses
It is very unsettling and what’s worse not many would understand!
I’m checking out some natural remedies like yoga and possible change in diet leading up to the period days to somehow help with this-will report back if I find something worth sharing

My periods completely changed last year. They became very short (2 really heavy days and 2 very light) and my cycle went from 27 to 25 days. I also wasn’t convinced I was always ovulating each month. I’m quite sensitive to my body and don’t take hormonal contraceptives so the changes were noticeable, as were hot sweats. I also noticed that I didn’t get cramps or sore boobs like I used to which was great!

The last couple of months things seem to have reverted back. I definitely had signs of ovulation the last 2 months. Periods have become 6 days again, boobs are agony a week before period starts (like they used to be) cramps and less PMT.

I have no idea what’s going on with me! I am 37 but I guess I’m getting to the age where things are going to start to change.

You have probably had some, if not all, those symptoms throughout your fertile life but not every month.

As time goes on we notice the regularity of these things more. I used to experience some of them when I had periods, at times worse than others. I was worse when on the pill but that may have seemed so because I had a bleed every 28 days; I did not have a regular cycle when not on pill and didn't always connect the dots.

There's nothing wrong with you but when you know that your period will be arriving soon, do try to relax, be careful not to eat any migraine triggering food and pamper yourself.
