My uncle and auntie sent the kids Amazon gifts cards with £30 each. Is it ok to send them thank you cards or is it a bit odd?

I would send a thank you. The clue is in the name I suppose - gift card!

I always send thank you cards for gifts and so far it has always been well received.
It's a lovely gesture, a bit old fashioned these days but very thoughtful and it shows good manners.

More off not to unless they thanked them when they were given.

We are doing 'thank yous' and keeping in touch notes far more at the moment, than we would normally. Often use a 'Touchnote' with a photo to make them smile - and it saves going out to post it!

I only picked them up yesterday when I went to back my hometown to go to the dentist. I will get the kids to send them one then.

Can never be too polite :-)

Yes, of course, It might be nice to say what they bought or are planning to buy with it.

We always send thank yous for gifts, vouchers or cash.

I don’t understand why a gift voucher is any different. If you’re the kind of person to send thank you cards (which I think is really nice) then they should be sent for a gift, a voucher or for cash in my view. If you only send them for an actual gift then it makes it look like you don’t appreciate the voucher
