I was wondering if we could have a thread for those of us who are crap with tech. Hopefully I am not the only one? We could use it as an ongoing thread to help each other out?
Here's my issues

my computer always takes forever to fire up - I've emptied it as much as I can but have to set aside about 15 minutes for it to do whatever it's doing

I am supposed to connect to a VPN via McAfee but the minute I connect, it asks me to do so again
More ambitiously, I'd really like to get rid of all the Microsoft stuff - Edge simply won't go away! But I don't know how to install anything else safely. All I need is a Word type document that will do pdfs, and an excel.
Also, slightly separate, modern tech seems to update all the time and it drives me mad. My years old MP3 player will stop suddenly while I'm running and tell me it's "updating library". Is there anything I can buy that won't do that? (Something not madly expensive).
