I have psoriasis that affects my ears - but my left one has gone mad. All my glands on my left side are swollen so I’m assuming infection. I have antibiotic cream and steroid cream anyway due to psoriasis (which is why it’s so shiny!)

No temp at all, just sore af. I’m starting a new job on Monday, so basically can this wait until Monday afternoon (3pm) latest to get oral antibs?

No you need to ring Out if hours now. Could end up facial cellulitis

covetingthepreciousthings · 23/01/2021 19:52

Ouch, I'd also ring 111 tonight. Hope it feels better soon OP.

It’s never been this bad, my psoriasis has flared recently and my ears were especially bad. When the skin come away it leaves raw, weepy patches (you can see on the rim of my ear where I had a patch) so I’m assuming bacteria has got in to the open skin and this is the result.

On hold to 111. I’ll see what they say. I sent a pic over to my GP this morning (although it was less angry then) and he suggested paracetamol Hmm

I'd say you need treatment sooner rather than later. Looks very painful op

Ostryga · 23/01/2021 20:12

I’m heading to the walk-in to get it properly checked over. 111 have triaged me so hopefully it won’t be hours.

Get yourself some antihistamines to go with it that might itch like a bitch while healing

Ostryga · 23/01/2021 21:58

Have fluoxetine and prednisolone (sp?) for 5 days so fingers crossed!!

You poor thing, really glad you had it looked at tonight. (The pred might make you feel a bit hyper, as in wide awake. )

CostaDelCovid · 23/01/2021 23:45

Fluoxetine?! That's Prozac! Do you mean Flucloxacillin by any chance? Thanks

Ostryga · 24/01/2021 01:34

Haha! I’m blaming my ridiculous ear! Yes I do mean flucloxacillin!

Mind you , having psoriatic ears is enough to make anyone depressed !
I used to have horrible eczema ; having bad skin is miserable .
I hope it all gets better and completely goes away very soon .
Enjoy your new job !

grassisjeweled · 24/01/2021 02:04

You poor sausage, feel better soon!

EBearhug · 24/01/2021 02:08

Now you just have to work out who's been gossiping about you to make your ears burn.Wink

Hope it calms down and you can sleep well.
