On the BBC news re shipping containers on a boat, how do the ships stay afloat with all that weight??

How can I instantly hear a person talking on the radio, when I am hundreds of miles away from them

How can an e-mail instantly be anywhere in the world, as soon as I press 'send'

How come baby Highland cows are so cute ?

Fax machines. I thought they must be magic when I was little

Electricity. What is it? How does it come down a wire? How exactly does it make lights, ovens, hair dryers, trains and a million other things work? Yes I know the all the theory and can regurgitate it for exams but I never really got it, if you know what I mean. Mind boggled.
