Caught covid end of november. Apparently it was mild but I was the sickest I've ever been, sats were fine but chest badly hit (have asthma) and heart rate high if I even walked to the loo. Started to recover after 6 weeks and now 8 weeks in probably 80-90% better but still slightly short of breath randomly with tight burning chest. Endurance/stamina definitely not as good although trying to build it up. Felt great last week and did loads, so really optimistic, spoke to my manager and said the way I'm going I might resume next week. This week not as good. Trouble is my job (NHS) is physically and mentally hard at the moment. Friend says it's gruelling..Ironically she caught it at same time but only had fluey symptoms and was back within 2 weeks..just wondered what people with similar jobs did re resuming ? My manager says I can do half shifts, take AL but the most I've walked is for an hour and I didn't feel brilliant then. Feel torn - want to go back and help but equally don't want to bale out because I can't cope. Gp was unhelpful, said being active outside is different and only way I'll know is by going back. Any advice ?
