Recipe boxes - are they worth it?

I know a lot of people get these and there are a few big companies selling them now. I've never bought one before but I was tempted by some of the introductory offers.

Can anyone who's tried them tell me which ones are best and if they're really worth it. I'm not sure if the cost is justified (or it is more so for some kinds of meals than others) and if it's really different enough to just choosing recipes and putting the items on your weekly supermarket delivery to justify getting?

My friend who has a DH and 2 DCs gets the boxes every week and I was a bit surprised when I saw how much they are - that must be costing a lot in total. I wondered whether it's something to get as more of a one off as a special dinner (2 of us in this household), rather than having them as dinner every day.

The pictures of the food look so appetising but I'd really like to know what people who've tried them really think before I get one.

There's a million threads on recipe boxes, here's the most recent one I commented on with plenty of discussion about the various companies that do them.
