Will doing 2 or 3 20min runs a week make a difference?

Would going for 2-3 20 minute runs each week make a difference to losing weight/fitness?

It doesn’t seem like much but with kids, work and no outside childcare it will be all I can fit in
Wondering if it’s worth trying

I’ve never run before

I always lose weight when I increase my running, my diet is pretty good though. Make sure you get decent trainers and don’t overdo it at first. No point getting a beginners running injury.

Do it. Some people do see a difference. Get outside. Your limited distance 20 minute runs will turn into faster, longer distance runs. You may end up increasing the time or adding on a weekend one.

You could throw in some pushup and situps with an app.

Absolutely worth it! You’ll feel better and 20 minutes of any exercise that increases your heart rate to the point where you are a bit puffed but can still speak is ideal. You’ll hopefully find all sorts of other benefits such as feeling calmer and sleeping better too.

@Velvian

I run twice a week for 25 - 30 minutes and it makes a massive difference. My stomach is flatter and my legs and bum are firm. I haven't really lost weight though.

Less food is really the only way to do that. Exercise has very little impact on weight loss.

That’s what I like to hear

I don’t own scales. Not really bothered about losing weight.

I’d love to lose some belly fat and change shape slightly so that I’m not as soft.

I used to be a big mountain hiker so I still have strong legs, but they aren’t used to running yet.

It’s cold out there today but going to make a start today.
Need to find some earphones!

I got given some Hoka One Ones a few years ago which went unused. I sold them last year as they were just taking up space 🤦🏻‍♀️

I will have to use a pair of new balance that will do for now (at least it isn’t converse)

@spaceghetto

I've lost 3 stone running for 25 mins 3 times a week. I heard so many people say "you have to run for 30 for any affect" or "running the same route will do nothing for your body." It's better than nothing! When you get more in the swing of running, you can try to beat your distance in that time. Working harder will give more results!
How long ago did you start running?

@purplebagladylovesgin

Yes. For health.

It improves your cardiovascular system.

It cleans your blood.

It helps your body use insulin properly and reduces the chance of developing diabetes.

So many health benefits, little and often, I'd say and about perfect to improve overall health.

Cleans your blood?

Eh? Can you explain?
