Colic & Carobel?

Just wondering if Carobel thickener has helped any babies with sicky/colic symptoms?

Also wondering what else worked to ease babies discomfort. When my 1 month old is going through the tough hours of constantly crying he will sometimes scream with hunger but then cry while taking the bottle as if he is struggling with it, also drinks the milk really fast and you can hear the big glug noises even after he stops drinking and it appears to cause a lot of discomfort as he will cry.

I honestly thought you were suggesting names for a set of twins here.

Sorry no experience with colic but I know it's rough, I hope you find something that works soon.

Both my DD's used carobel alongside anti reflux medication. DD1 used omeprazole and DD2 used ranitidine.
I found that the carobel didn't really do anything but my babies had CMPA and that was what was causing their sickness not the reflux.
Carobel is typically used in CMPA formulas as the milk is so thin.
I would say that although the carobel will thicken your baby's milk, it's unlikely to take the symptoms away and should probably be used in conjunction with an anti reflux medication of some kind.
I hope your baby feels better soon.

I wonder if they aren’t breast fed they are intolerant to cows milk
My son was and as soon as he was fed on soya milk he stopped having diahorrea at every nappy change.

This was nearly 40 years ago. Soya isn’t supposed to be good for us now
