What can we do this weekend?

We go to the park/ for a walk everyday when it’s quiet so it’s not appealing at the weekends when it’s heaving.

We can’t watch a family movie together because ds won’t watch anything but pokemon (and I. Just. Can’t)

Board games are a given but honestly they’re very hard work too and part of ds’ therapy though I pretend very hard that it’s fun.

It’s too cold to sit out.

The dc will have screen time but ds only manages 2 hours tops before he gets wired.

We have no one to visit inside our 5km zone. And no one has anything to talk about on zoom except about having nothing to talk about.

Gah!

Have a picnic on the living room floor, then a game or movie, then you all have a sleepover on the sofa cushions on the living room floor

Baking
Crafts
Taking turns to choose a game
Card games (with fun forfeits)
Tie Die
Night walk with torches (it's quieter)
Making bird feeders etc. to do the bird watch next weekend
Pokemon go
Camping (indoors)
Some kind of make your own dinner

It's so hard and boring.

Theimpossiblegirl · 22/01/2021 22:55

*Tie dye
(My typo implies something altogether different)

Cuddling57 · 22/01/2021 22:58

All do some quiz questions?
Cube style games?
Nerf wars?
I like the idea of a bird feeder above.

Yes it's all so boooring

VeniVidiWeeWee · 22/01/2021 22:58

What country are you in? What 5km limit.

Love51 · 22/01/2021 22:58

The detective Pikachu movie is ok!

We are making bread, going on a bike ride, and doing housework as I cba last weekend so there's a few jobs need doing.
Book a UK holiday for something to look forward to?

Unmute · 22/01/2021 22:59

God, this all sounds exhausting. We will be listening to a lot of podcasts while knitting (me) and sorting trading cards (ds). Ds might make scones. That, together with a few walks with the dog, should fill the weekend.

Scooters, park, playground and a takeaway Pret then gone for Disney +. And repeat the following day Grin

spaceghetto · 22/01/2021 23:29

We got the board game Blockus. It's brilliant! I can play with dh6, dh and dh2 can have go too!

Titsywoo · 22/01/2021 23:29

5km limit? Is that a thing? This evening we drove to a restaurant and got a collection then sat in our car outside and ate it. We have a people carrier that has two rows of seats in the back which turn and face each other so we pretended we were in a restaurant Grin

Most weekends we do stuff around the house, go for a walk, watch a film with a takeaway and do a games night with friends online (we play Jackbox games and chat on zoom with the other families - it is great fun).

thelegohooverer · 22/01/2021 23:38

Lots of ideas. Thank you.

We’re in Ireland hence the 5km limit.

We are on a 5km limit here too. Had a takeaway tonight and I am in work for a bit this weekend. Other than that not much to do. Patrols all weekend at the hotspots.

Elouera · 23/01/2021 00:06

With out any clue as to how old your kids are?

  • Make homemade playdough
  • Bake biscuits/gingerbread together
  • Jigsaws
  • start a compost heap
  • Start some seedlings
Hawkmoth · 23/01/2021 00:07

If they like pokemon might they accept some of the Studio Ghibli films on Netflix?

Frolicacid · 23/01/2021 00:12

We are having a party tomorrow. Just because we got through another rubbish week. We will have party food, pass the parcel & musical statues.
We deserve it!
Also hoping for snow to play in 🤞🏻

NovemberR · 23/01/2021 00:15

We're taking rubbish to the tip before rats overwhelm us...

We know how to live.Sad

If not raining my ds will play cricket in the garden. He got bowling machine for Xmas and loves it. He is in Year 10 and studying BTEC Food so is going to make home made veg soup to practice his chopping skills. Something to add to his portfolio. Dog walking. He will probably run around lake 2k. Watch some TV most likely Big Bang Theory or Kobra Kai. We are going to lop off some big branches from overgrown tree, then chop down smaller got disposal, so he might be persuaded to help pick them up and put into green bin. 1 hour computer each weekend day. Teams chat with a friend. BTEC Sport homework must be done too. I am roasting pork on Sunday.
