This was my favourite toy when I was a child in the 1980s and I just noticed that it is now being sold again. It now has woodland figures but everything else looks the same:

Unfortunately my DC are too old and have turned down my offer of buying it for them!

I always wanted one of those! Friends had them and I was so envious. Never did get one

LadyBishyBarnaby · 22/01/2021 21:46

I’m really tempted to buy one 😀

Are your DC old enough to have children of their own? Do you have an attic? Buy it and keep it.

I have a dolls house kit in my attic. I've got my own dolls house but my niece who is only 10 isn't old enough yet. She doesn't know it's there.

I absolutely loved mine, actually I was a couple of years older and it was my little sisters. We LOVED it!

FelicityPike · 22/01/2021 21:49

Mine is still in my parents loft.

Haggisfish · 22/01/2021 21:49

I loved this toy, too.

wowfudge · 22/01/2021 21:50

I had one in the 70s. I loved it and of course it was portable when you closed it up.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 22/01/2021 21:50

It's not the same without the little people though, I wish they hadn't changed that!

cortex10 · 22/01/2021 21:51

DN1 owned one in 1980
It got passed on to DN2 in 1988
Then to our DS in1998
Have recently retrieved it from the loft to pass on to DN2's DS
Still going strong - and in the original box. Great memories.

WorriedMillie · 22/01/2021 21:52

I loved mine!! I wish I’d have kept it for DD, (but she wasn’t in the least bit interested in my weebles or My Little Ponies...)

reindeesandchristmastrees · 22/01/2021 21:52

My lovely best childhood friend had one and then her Mum kept it and my kids got to play with it when we met up at friend's mum's house (we both lived away many miles apart so home town is where we would often meet up with kids)
seeing my son and daughter playing with this made me so so happy

LadyBishyBarnaby · 22/01/2021 21:53

My DC are 10 and 12, so unfortunately can’t quite justify buying for future grandchildren yet!

I had one of those, I loved it! My sister had it after me, then DS. Happy days!

LadyBishyBarnaby · 22/01/2021 21:54

My parents binned all of our old toys, I’m not sure why as they seem to keep everything else 😀

Oh wow - I had this and absolutely loved it. Best toy ever. I remember taking it into school on “take your favourite toy to school day” on the last day of term when I was 6. Bet it’s still in my mum and dad’s loft somewhere...

NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs · 22/01/2021 21:56

I had one of those too!

superram · 22/01/2021 21:57

I loved mine and also had weebles and a sindy house.

dawnc27 · 22/01/2021 21:57

i have a 6mth old nephew. i can buy this for him and then roadtest it to make sure its safe for him when hes older yes?

DeadButDelicious · 22/01/2021 21:58

I had one of these when I was little and I loved it, so when I saw the new ones I got one for DD for Christmas, she's 4 and absolutely loves it as well, I think it's been the number one played with toy after Elsa's giant bastard castle. 😂.

I am eagerly awaiting them remaking the giant yellow teapot. Surely that's due a comeback? It was an awesome toy.

Wouldn't mind She-Rae's castle either...

dawnc27 · 22/01/2021 21:59

@NotExactlyMrsCurrentAffairs

I had one of those too! And these (pics)
im still mouning the loss of my big yellow teapot, and my my little pony show stable, house and water fall set that my neice trashed (still got a few ponies left though)
DeadButDelicious · 22/01/2021 22:00

She-ra even! 🙄 mine went to the charity shop along with all my golden girls and flower fairy dolls. Gutted.

Carryingon · 22/01/2021 22:01

I coveted and eventually got this!

Nonamesavail · 22/01/2021 22:02

Just buy it OP. I've brought playmobil for myself!

EduCated · 22/01/2021 22:05

Oh I can still remember the feel of the plastic! We had the teapot too.
