What is it? Sounds like dodgy sweat factory, does anyone use them?

They’re based in China and the clothing is hit and miss. It’s all a bit meh quality but you get what you pay for. My dd’s and their friends have bought from the website so I know.

Delivery also takes an age.

Jjacobb · 22/01/2021 21:28

My teenage DDs buy a lot of their clothes from Shien. I got some bits from there for Christmas and delivery took less than a week.

SameToo · 22/01/2021 21:28

Looks like cheap sweat shop shit to me. If you want to know if clothes are good, look at what they’re made of, how the materials sourced and if they can say anything about who they employ

RickiTarr · 22/01/2021 21:28

Dodgy as hell. You can see from the website really. The whole Chinese economic miracle is based on some getting stinking rich off the exploitation of others. Flying dirt cheap goods across the world is environmentally indefensible, in any case. Besides which we should really be boycotting Chinese goods in protest at their human rights abuses.

Even if you don’t care about any of that, the quality is likely to be highly variable.

RickiTarr · 22/01/2021 21:30

Maybe we should all be sitting our DDs down and explaining to them about sweatshops, clothes miles, disposable fashion etc? Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever fully had that conversation.

LickEmbysmiling · 22/01/2021 21:32

Yes! I've never heard of it, it's dd who mentioned it!! Some stuff looks gorgeous... I'm going to swerve it thank you.

They're in the running to buy Topshop.

cameocat · 22/01/2021 21:34

Ordered some stuff for DD. Hit and miss. DD she loves what we bought but I have to say it felt too cheap and came straight from China so I thin I'll avoid in future.

IHaveBrilloHair · 22/01/2021 21:34

It's cheap, fast fashion.
I've had some great stuff from there though.
It's entirely up to you if you want to use the site.

RickiTarr · 22/01/2021 21:35

@TheSpottedZebra

They're in the running to buy Topshop.
Really? Jeez.
PaperMonster · 22/01/2021 21:54

The sizing is quite off. I’ve had a couple of adult items - I bought a large in one top but it was so small my nine year old wears it! The items I’ve bought for her though have been true to size and good quality.
