Best chocolate brownie recipe?

Please share your favourite.

I made some last week but they went cakey. I read that as soon as you can smell them they’re nearly done - is that true?

I use the BBC good foods one. I highly recommend the brownie tins with inserts so they bake into perfect individual brownies. Each with a perfect edge and lovely and fudgy in the middle.

Another vote for the Nigella ones, been making them for years, and everyone at my and DH's work loved them after they'd come out of the sugar/choc coma Grin

I love the Hummingbird Cafe ones- just chocolate, butter, sugar, flour and eggs. They come out flaky on top and gooey in the middle.

I like that there is no cocoa powder in that recipe. Green and Black's 70% is my favourite chocolate to use.

These are delicious (and clearly no need to use really posh chocolate or raspberries!)

Triple chocolate brownies, all mixed in a saucepan - super easy, and the baking time is only 15-20 minutes!

Agreed, really are the best brownies.

Janes patisserie blog had amazing brownie recipes. In fact all her recipes are amazing and you can tell she tests and retests the recipes as they turn out great first time every time. The bakewell blondies are lush.

Another vote for the BBC Good Food ones. My daughter (15) makes them and has "converted" everyone (no joke) who has tasted them. Everyone asks for the recipe and says they're the best they've ever had. She made them for one of my friends this week who is well known for being a bit of a star baker who grudgingly said her children preferred them to hers!

The only brownies worth making. Sorry I have no idea how to do a clicky link

Gooseygoosey12345 · 22/01/2021 21:34

Oh, I apparently it automatically does it. Who knew!

BBC good food best ever brownies is failsafe IMO

GwendolineMarysLaces · 22/01/2021 21:40

The Mary Berry one with choc chips in. It's in the Aga cookery book

A third vote here for the Duncan Hines box mix ones. It is literally the only dessert I do not make from scratch because I've never found a brownie recipe that's come out better than that box mix.
