Advice needed

Hello ladies, I’m new to mumsnet, and looking for some advice. I’m in a really difficult situation, have been trying to get pregnant for over 5 years, we got to the ivf referral stage finally last week, when my husband out of the blue said that he doesn’t want kids anymore, so he didn’t sign the form. He’s been brilliant prior to this, done all the tests required, and now this. And his reasons were: being old, I shouldn’t have left it this long... which for me isn’t a valid reason, we are not old (I’m 38 he’s 42) and i asked if he felt this way why has he done all the tests, he said because I asked him to do. I’m confused and heartbroken, we’ve been married for 15 years, kids were always on the agenda, had our ups and downs, but we were happy-ish. I don’t know how to process this. He won’t talk to me about this, and I don’t know how to continue. Ideas ladies? Many thanks, x

Bloody hell. Do you believe it’s because of his age?

Where do you see the relationship going if he’s adamant he doesn’t want children with you?

What’s the rest of the marriage like?

It’s obviously just happened but would you consider donor sperm and doing it alone?

I honestly don’t know what to believe any more. He’s a loving and caring person otherwise, but can be very moody and hasn’t been the most responsible person until recently. This ivf had been going on since 2017, last year we bought a house, so I thought life is finally going to be complete, and now he drops his bomb. I’m uncertain about everything atm
