I'm a good 14, late 30's but like bright, quirky stuff. And for all the outings during lockdown Hmm I fancy some new bits

I make my own. Can you sew?

MrsTaytodarling · 22/01/2021 09:09

I buy mine from oasis, Zara, river island, Dorothy Perkins, warehouse, some of the concessions at new look (ax Paris and there’s another one I can’t think of... maybe billie and blossom?) and the odd bit from tk maxx, h and m, some gap, possibly urban outfitters is worth a look but that’s about it! Primark I love for basics (stretchy long sleeve tops) but their real clothes are a smidge ‘fashion’ for what I like
I like my clothes at under £30 for tops, under £50 for jeans and am 32 and pre pregnancy 12-14.

I’m 29 and a size 10-12. I value comfort (especially now!) but don’t want to look frumpy.

I love Hush for quality basics like joggers, jumpers, sweatshirts etc. It’s a bit pricier than some high street shops but the stuff is lovely and washes well.

I like M&S for jeans and they have some really nice knitwear.

I also shop on ASOS a lot but I’ve been disappointed in their quality recently.

EddisonTortoise · 22/01/2021 10:12

Size 12. 45 years old.

I get a lot of stuff from Joe Browns; sometimes Oasis; FatFace before it got really frumpy.

I'm not a big shopper though. I hate shopping and prefer to wear 100% cotton for all day/everyday clothes so it's difficult. I find somewhere/something I like and buy it multiple times so I can carry on wearing the same thing for years Smile

Xiaoxiong · 22/01/2021 10:32

Size 12, 37 years old.

Weekends/at the moment: Seasalt, Hobbs, Uniqlo, M&S. Sometimes Crew, White Stuff or Fat Face. (Literally sitting here at my desk wearing a blue/yellow/cream striped Seasalt jumper, Uniqlo thermal body and M&S jeans!)

Work: more Uniqlo, Cos, John Lewis own-brand, occasionally Gap.

I want to get some bits from Massimo Dutti and Sezane as I really like the styles, but I am large of nork and find it very difficult to buy in lockdown from websites which use very slim/flatter chested models as I just can't envisage what the styles would look like on me. I have been stung in the past buying something that looked oversized and drapey on the model, to find it tight across the bust on me and like a tent elsewhere.

If you like bright quirky stuff have you tried Monki?

BearSoFair · 22/01/2021 10:43

Gap, Next, always M&S for jeans, and I always look in Tu and George for winter tops!

SparkyBlue · 22/01/2021 11:10

I've started to love sugarhill stuff. Lots of bright colours and the clothes are not made to only fit super skinny tall people. I'm 4"11 and 10-12 and find the dresses in particular very flattering

Chuckleknuckles · 22/01/2021 11:31

I think the likes of H&M is always good for colour but not necessarily quirky. The good thing is that it’s all very cheap so you can try things and if they decide you don’t like them, you’re not too much out of pocket.

thecognoscenti · 22/01/2021 12:41

I'm the same age and size as you OP though I'm the opposite in terms of colour preferences - 90% of my wardrobe is navy/grey/black/white. I like Jigsaw and Hobbs (in the sales) - Hobbs especially for work wear. Also M&S and John Lewis own-brand, Cos for knitwear (not brave or thin enough for some of their quirkier stuff). Lately I've come round to Hush though their obsession with midi length and handkerchief hems is a bit tiresome.

Thanks! Will have a bit of online window shopping 😍
