What wakes you up in the morning?

Every morning I'm woken up because I need a wee Angry

It would usually be an alarm clock before I started working from home.

What wakes you up?

Our neighbour’s newspaper delivery!
We live at the end of a close. They live sort of beyond that. A kind of close off a close, so the paper van stops outside ours around 6am.
Screech of breaks, followed by a door slamming.
Then a 3 min break while the driver walks to deliver the paper.
Then door slamming again and revving of engine, followed by a whirring sound as the van reverses.
It is soooo annoying! Not so much during normal times, but now with the lockdowns I try to sleep in a bit to pass the time.
Luckily these neighbours are moving, but it’s taking ages though, as they don’t use the internet. This is why they still buy a physical newspaper.

Hubby’s morning erection prodding me in the back Grin

Monday to Saturday - DS16 getting up for school. Or DH shouting at DS to get up and go to school.

Sunday - nothing!

DreamingInColours · 23/01/2021 13:20

14mo DS usually bashes me in the face. Good morning to you too!

dingoesatemybaby · 23/01/2021 13:22

Kids, usually fighting.

If anyone who is woken early by needing a wee is up for a small experiment, I have some suggestions.

Go on then

Usually my slipper but now and again a Doc Marten dropped on my head by my stealth dog. He silently sneaks upstairs about 7ish and finds the closest item to the bed and with one bounce he's off the floor, landed beside, looming over me with shoe in mouth which he then drops on the only bit of me sticking out of the duvet.

@BikeRunSki
It's quick reflexology, I need to draw and explain. So I'm only going to do it if there's any genuine interest Smile.

Spacecudet · 23/01/2021 15:27

My alarm on a week day. My stomach rumbling at the weekends.

Baby DD chomping at my boob. The joys of co-sleeping!

CoronaIsShit · 23/01/2021 16:56

Either DH kissing me goodbye on his way to work or his erection on weekends Blush.

TheChosenTwo · 23/01/2021 17:14

Oh my god I couldn’t be more thankful after reading this thread that my kids are older and I don’t have pets (not ones that are noisy or demanding anyway) Grin
On a work day my alarm wakes me up. At the weekends I wake up when I wake up. Happy days!

Imissmoominmama · 23/01/2021 17:32

@Bourbonbiccy- that took me back 17 years... 🥰

I'm not going to lie, We love it !! We would love it more if it was a little later than 06.30, every single morning, but hey ho GrinGrin

Moonbabyskalimba · 23/01/2021 18:47

I can't remember the last time I woke naturally instead of being startled awake by DS screeching. I don't need to bother setting an alarm

OutingMyDog · 23/01/2021 18:50

Today my cat woke me about six times between 4am and 7am by clawing my back trying to get under the duvet. It was too cold to get up and shut him out.

Kottbullar · 23/01/2021 18:52

DH when he's here.
When he's not I usually just wake up naturally or with an alarm if I need to be somewhere. Sometimes one of the children comes in for a snuggle or to bring me tea.
