Waist reduction in lockdown

You can’t openly boast about these things in rl without it being judged... but I need to share as I’m proud: I’ve got my waist down from 37 inches to 32 (since around February 2020).
I’m tall and a rectangle shape, I’ve always had a thick waist for my weight. This is probably my smallest waist ever, strangely after I’ve had my five kids and being a little heavier still...

It’s been hard, I’ve eaten better (so much was bloat I think, my gut is healthier) and I’ve really stuck to exercise for the first time, and I now for the first time don’t have a straight/ curving outwards waist! I can wear jeans and t-shirts without being asked if I’m pregnant 😁

Well done! You must feel very proud of yourself - and it looks like you did it the right way. Slow and steady wins the race.

I hoping the same thing will happen to me gradually over the coming months. You’ve given me hope!Smile

Well done! Did you lose weight as well? What’s your secret? My waist has increased in lockdown, grr.

Fabulous- that’s a big change!

I’ve not lost as much as you might think, around 7-8kg. I have those crossed from being just overweight to a healthy weight range comfortably.

I’ve done 15 min rowing machine every morning (I give up long classes etc I know about myself, I have trouble sticking to things. An intense 15 min though has seen a big change in my toning all over)
I’ve walked A LOT (funny that...)
I’ve bought a scooter to follow the children on (it burns your thighs at first, but you can cover miles)
I cycled more to get places

So I guess in essence it’s more lifestyle change than an exercise plan, scooting instead of driving to the park, getting out more.

Food wise is similar, a lot of bad habits and not enough veg being slowly improved. Alcohol reduced significantly (I credit this to also gaining a jaw line, I had a big double chin for my weight)

I’m not tiny at all, I still have a little flap if skin/ fat at my bikini line. But.. it’s a huge improvement

That’s over a stone though. Not to be sniffed at!

Reducing your waist has a big risk reduction for things like diabetes. Really well done.
