Conception after medical abortion

I had a abortion 4 weeks ago due to baby having NTD at 12 weeks. I did a pregnancy test 2 weeks after abortion which showed a faint positive which must had been left over hormones from pregnancy. I then did another pregnancy test 3 weeks after abortion which showed negative. I have been doing ovulation tests since 2 weeks after abortion which along with the pregnancy tests went from positive lines now to negative. Im thinking again ovulation tests showed positive because of left over hormones from pregnancy.
Does anyone have any experience of this? On when they experienced ovulation after medical abortion? I'm desperate to conceive again. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have experience with ovulation tests however I showed positive on a pregnancy test several weeks after a medical abortion. Hcg will remain in your body for some time afterwards and your body will take at least 4 to 6 weeks to get back to normal again and for your cycles to start again. I think you should wait until at least your AF comes again before trying to conceive as your body has been through a lot already xx best of luck x
