App Store password help- I’m going insane!!

My phone has suddenly decided to ask me for my password after years of fingerprint verification for downloading a new app. I type it in.... wrong..... fine. I say ‘forgotten password’ and it says I can reset my password using my phone unlock number, but it also thinks this is wrong when I know it isn’t.

Any ideas? Or anyone else had this problem?

Speak to your phone provider if it's a contract phone. Have you tried the age old 'turn it off and turn it on again' trick?

Will Vodafone know anything about the Apple side of things?

No solutions just yet. I’ve googled like made and now going to find a chatbot with Apple

Had the same problem with daughter’s iPad. Decided password was wrong (I know damned will it wasn’t) and then decided unlock code to reset password was wrong (again, it wasn’t) I thought I was going mad!!

I few days later I tried again and password worked fine

So I’ve fixed it by calling Apple support, amazing help and all solved during a screen share, hopefully it won’t go wrong again!
