What is this movement?

Hi mumsnetters, looking for your wisdom as google throws up a whole load of terrifying answers.
For the past week or so I’ve been feeling “movement” in my stomach, lower abdo, slightly to the left of my tummy button. It comes and goes and is mostly noticeable in the daytime when I’m doing nothing. I haven’t really noticed it while lying in bed at night. It feels very much like a baby moving and can sometimes be visible from the outside. However, I’m on the pill, been getting periods and weigh 9st and although my stomach isn’t flat, it hasn’t changed shape at all really, and if I was far enough along to be feeling movement then surely it would have. I’ve 2 children already and both pregnancies were very symptomatic and I’ve felt totally fine so that’s why I’m pretty much ruling out pregnancy.
So what else could it be? The movements haven’t been followed by wind, and they come and go throughout the day but I only notice them when lying still. I’ve read some horrible things online about how women noticed movement and it turning out to be cancerous tumours etc so I’m slightly concerned.
Has this ever happened to you and if so, what was the outcome? Any advice or anecdotes are greatly appreciated Smile

Well have you actually done a pregnancy test?

Whatatune · 21/01/2021 10:29

It sometimes happens to me, not pregnant (unless it's a very lazy baby because the first time it happened was about 12 years ago and I've never given birth!). No idea what it is but it doesn't hurt and I have no other symptoms so I assume it's just one of those things like when I get a shooting pain and think I'm going to die but then I'm fine. If you're worried though I would do a pregnancy test and then if it's negative try and get a doctors appointment.

No pregnancy test, I’ll pick one up today but I’d be very surprised if I was, like I say no other symptoms, on the pill, getting my periods as normal, and 2 previous very symptomatic pregnancies. Was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on what else it could be!
Glad to know it happens to someone else whatatune, it’s a very weird feeling!

I'm sure you're not, I'm sure it's nothing serious either but if it'll put your mind at rest it's worth it. I'm sure I've seen other threads on here by people who have had the same feeling. Maybe it's a slightly larger than usual egg rolling down just before ovulation time 🤔😂
