Typo on google classroom !!! Cringing

DameEdnasNeighbourhoodWatch · 20/01/2021 20:42

Today with the home schooling, there was a video about writing sentences. My daughter is five and in primary one so I have to upload the work and guide her through it very closely. I thought I wrote in one of the comments - "we had a shot of doing every sentence" and what I actually wrote was "we had a shit at every sentence". I tried to delete and it came up - "the teacher will see the deleted comment". I am genuinely cringing. I deleted the comment and wrote - "apologies for typo". Is there anything else I should do? I don't want to make it a bigger deal than what I feel it is in my head... calm me down mumsnet!! Teachers would you see the funny side for this or what would your reaction be?

I would find this absolutely hilarious and it would brighten my day during very stressful times

Bananacocks · 20/01/2021 20:45

Don't stress the teacher will laugh.

CatherineCawood · 20/01/2021 20:45

Don't worry I'm sure you will have brightened the teachers day! I wrote to my client Wendy today, except I typed Windy. Saw it just before I pressed send. Phew! However I did instruct another client the other day to poop into the meeting instead of pop! Life is boring ATM so anything funny is a blessed distraction I say.

I would cry with laughter if that happened in my google classroom.

You've cheered me up so much I thought this thread was going to be a moan about a teacher-typo!

choosername1234 · 20/01/2021 20:45

My son's nursery teacher once sent a letter hone asking that the kids bring their willies to nursery / she meant wellies. We loved her even more for it! Smile

inquietant · 20/01/2021 20:47

Oh that's bad luck! Could be a lot lot worse though.

Adrastia · 20/01/2021 20:48

If it makes you feel any better OP there was a thread on twitter last week where a teacher had inadvertently used this for an art lesson

AppleKatie · 20/01/2021 20:49

Teacher is laughing OP don’t worry!

DameEdnasNeighbourhoodWatch · 20/01/2021 20:49

Thanks everyone that's reassuring me. I feel that due to lockdown I have hardly had any interaction with the teachers and I don't want them all having the wrong impression of me !!

My friend sent out a letter for a field trip she was running reminding pupils to bring their willies.

itispersonal · 20/01/2021 20:50

Don't worry I sent as a teacher, well done you can count on, but missed the o in count!

Thankfully it was an editable comment, once it was sent!

DameEdnasNeighbourhoodWatch · 20/01/2021 20:51

Adrastia that is hilarious ! Hope the parents saw the funny side !!

I once sent an email to my team saying I was going to “shit myself in my office now until I’ve finished the board papers”. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Adrastia · 20/01/2021 21:02

I sent an email that started with "I know you are busty" to a very well endowed colleague

Eileithyiaa · 20/01/2021 21:06

I have a colleague called Tony who is a bloke and also very short in height.

I once emailed him and put Tiny 🤦🏼‍♀️

TwinkleMerrick · 20/01/2021 21:18

Teacher here and I would be laughing my head off at that, really don't worry. You apologised so they know it was intentional. Honestly, things are so tough atm that these little laughs are very welcome.

AppleKatie · 20/01/2021 21:34

They will definitely politely ignore - no good could come of them commenting!

PalaminoPower · 20/01/2021 21:40

They will laugh to themselves and politely ignore. Please remember to do the same when it’s the other way around at some point!

I had a shitting parent last week. Made me smile and resist the urge to use the poo 💩 emoji.
