Luckily last year's birthday was in normal times - any ideas of things to do this time around? Probably not!
I do have a bottle of Veuve Cliquot so it is not all doom and gloom and will go for a run. TIA

Get a takeaway
Watch a film
Kick back and read a new book
Run a different route
Zoom meeting with your friends have cake
Get some flowers

In fact have these 💐

Pinkandwrinkly · 20/01/2021 18:55

Have your favourite dinner, do things you love, watch a movie, get drunk if you want.
Happy birthday.

FleetwoodRaincoat · 20/01/2021 19:05

Order some flowers to be delivered. Have lots of lovely food and a good book/film. Maybe a long soak in the bath.

Hope you enjoy your day Flowers

Some of the posher restaurants have started doing takeaways and meal kits. They're a bit pricey, but a real treat.

Justvisitingthisplanet · 20/01/2021 19:08

My birthday coming up.
I'm planning to order an afternoon tea delivered from local cafe.
Also I've asked my family if I can delay presents and have an "un-birthday" once lockdown is over.

TheSeventeenth · 20/01/2021 19:09

Airbnb are doing some really cool online experiences - cooking demos, magic shows, tours... you can join with a limited number of other or have a private show. We are getting our eldest daughter a private magic show for some of her friends to login to for her birthday, might something like this work for you?

Palavah · 20/01/2021 19:09

I had a birthday early in lockdown 1.0 and it threw down with rain.

I did an early yoga class, leisurely shower and breakfast, various calls throughout the day, read a book, did a bit of a hobby, and had zoom drinks in the evening.
I also cleaned and tidied the flat the day before so I had a lovely environment to hang out in.

Hotcuppatea · 20/01/2021 19:10

Go for a long walk with a friend? This is what I did and it was lovely.

PilatesPeach · 20/01/2021 19:12

Thanks everyone great ideas

I am not working at the moment so already have so much time on my hands to do lots of things like a bath, film, good book and eat! What a hard life!

Yes some flowers I think definitely. I even thought about a glass of champagne at breakfast seeing as I can also have a nap in the morning too Grin

Favourite takeaway.
Binge watch some series you've never had time to start.
It was a coincidence but I had my birthday in lockdown 1 and I was on a zoom call with some friends and colleagues. It was lovely seeing lots of people together, can you organise something like that? Mine wasn't organised but I was so glad it happened! Planning it again for this year as it's likely we'll still be in lockdown by then 😂

Randomrebel · 20/01/2021 19:23

Someone I know booked a online tour of Venice for their birthday.

Do what you enjoy have a lovely breakfast, run, nice light lunch and either get a posh takeaway, order afternoon tea or cook or have a nice meal cooked for you at home with candles on the table like in a restaurant or a posh picky bits or tapas carpet picnic.

PilatesPeach · 20/01/2021 19:30

Have to say last year was with a horrible man in an unhappy relationship so this year, even by myself in lockdown, will be infinitely better!

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 20/01/2021 19:30

So I would order breakfast and dinner for delivery and a graze box for lunch order a cake and some flowers and binge watch tv with gin 😂😂😂

PilatesPeach · 20/01/2021 19:33

I don't like gin but could do that with my champagne @GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough Grin

Get a shitload of your favourite food & booze and watch a couple of cheesy chick flicks. Or get pissed and dance round your living room to all your favourite songs on Spotify!

harknesswitch · 20/01/2021 19:45

Zoom call in the evening with friends and/or family, maybe arrange a quiz.

Champagne at breakfast, a nap, binge watch some telly or read a book. Takeaway, order yourself some lovely things, or maybe one thing you've been lusting after.

katy1213 · 20/01/2021 20:04

Champagne breakfast sounds great. Maybe order a box of spring flowers? Or even fill the house with supermarket daffodils.
Any local restaurants doing takeaway supper clubs? I've had it with screen time but you could sign up for a play from the National Theatre or Old Vic.

FuzzyPuffling · 20/01/2021 20:04

It's my birthday next week too. Happy birthday to you.
January birthdays are a bit glum at the best of times, but I am lucky in having a fab DH. I'm going for nice food, video calls with family and a good book.
Hope you have the best day!

PilatesPeach · 20/01/2021 20:47

Thank you my fellow Aquarian!

I'm going to make myself a chocolate cake. This is very special as I have been dieting for the past couple of months. I shall eat it in very small slices!

Happy Birthday PilatesPeach

Sounds perfect👌

Happy birthday OP 🎂

feelingsadtoday2021 · 21/01/2021 19:07

I came on to say air B and B as well it's great !

TroysMammy · 21/01/2021 19:11

I was glad takeaways are open as I had pizza. Having a birthday in January I've never been one for pushing the boat out so doing sod all, eating pizza, watching Antiques Roadshow and clean bedding was a perfect day.

Tier10 · 21/01/2021 19:49

How about a home spa session, body scrub, mud treatment etc and do your nails. Then lounge around in your robe with candles on for part of the day.
