I've had several reminders from my surgery that I need to book a smear. I've explained I'm trying to be careful because of covid, but they said book it and see, and have booked it for me.

is it unreasonable for me to delay it?

Of course not. I haven't had one for 22 years. I'm sure you'll be fine for a couple of months Wink

Meredithgrey1 · 20/01/2021 16:26

I would go.

BrianOfHull · 20/01/2021 16:30

As someone who had pre cancerous cells at age 22, I would also go.

You need to go. Don't delay it.

Allispretty · 20/01/2021 16:32

Just go, I delayed my 2nd ever smear and had pre cancerous cells. It's not worth it

To the pp saying they haven't been for 22 years and advising op to delay it you are highly irresponsible

Sparklingbrook · 20/01/2021 16:34

You have to ask yourself why they are still doing smears but not doing other procedures. It's because it's really important!

joynoelle · 20/01/2021 16:35

I've got mine on Tuesday. Go! It's really important.

lanbro · 20/01/2021 16:39

Definitely go, so important. In fact you've reminded me I need to book one so thanks!

Doctors surgeries are very empty at the moment because only people who really need to be there are being allowed to go. Go get your smear test.
