Just lost it with home schooling

I'm wfh and homeschooling DD7. I had a video call with my work today so arranged her school timetable around it. This meant we did most of her work this morning and she got a long break while I was on my call.

She has called her Dad (we're not together) from the iPad, told him I am relaxing watching tv and not helping her with her school work Hmm.

When we came back this afternoon to do the one thing we had left to do, I was explaining it to her (she said she didn't know how to do it) and she's rolling her eyes and grunting at me. I've just had enough and told her as such. She can be quite rude to me (never her dad), she's rude about me and quite frankly I can already do her maths, so it's not me that needs help.

She's now sitting in her bedroom device-less and I'm working in peace.

Someone tell me to grow up please..

Go and get a coffee, take a deep breath and come back to it. It’s bloody hard going and I think kids are finding it equally hard. Rudeness isn’t ok though, you know this.

Ask her father what days he wants to be responsible for her schooling.

She can take her attitude there😁

Thanks @Jellycatspyjamas

@CaffeineInfusion.. it was discussed.. he has this deadline you see 🙄 he is definitely going to be teacher some days next week.. This teacher is going on strike!

We have finished her work now and she spoke to me in her sweetest voice ever Halo

He can teach her via video call.

Take a break, think about your own self-care too.

My husband has next week off work. I plan to throw the laptop at him and shout "your turn" . Then I am running away to live in the woods for a week.

Definitely @bonfireheart.. my eldest has been ill with covid, so he's not seen DD7 for 2 weeks as we've been isolating.

Make sure you do @Ilovemaisie!
