You know in zombie movies when a character slowly realises someone they know and love has been bitten and will slowly turn into a zombie?

Well, that's what it feels like when someone gets sucked in by recent conspiracy theories or worse, joins an MLM scheme.

Is there a cure?

I know exactly what you mean and I really hope so because it's just happened to my friend Kaye and I really hate candles...

It's so awkward as you want to be supportive.

Coaching seems to be something new that's popping up everywhere. It seems different from normal coaching as it is has similar language to MLM schemes. Slogans and hashtags etc.

It's a very good analogy.

It just feels so zombie-like when people get sucked into the theories, they seem to just slip away. Before you know it they can be so aggressive and argumentative. It's really sad. I feel like I don't know some people any more.

Cut their head off! OK, not literally but I find I have to mute their SM posts until it all goes tits up with the MLM and they're normal human beings again.

Cam2020 · 20/01/2021 16:52

And I agree with the analogy too! They're less like businesses and more like cults IMO.

It's a bloody poison.

Every, and I mean EVERY Facebook group I join, no matter the topic, has huns peddling their shitty wax melts or inviting us to join her "team".

I like your style cam2020!

Shelag I've also had a few people messaging me because I am a friend of a friend. 'Oh you know such and such, I think you would make a greater leader...'

I think I've seen a recent rise because so many people are struggling to make ends meet. It's sad because so many of them end up losing money and eroding their self-confidence and friendships in the process.
