Mistaken identity

I am on a different forum. I read the forums regularly and I log in less and I don't post often. Another user there has mistaken me for someone else and has sent me some angry PMs. They read to me as if the poster thinks I'm her ex. The PMs are angry and abusive. I responded to one of them and I said 'you got the wrong person' and the poster wasn't having any of it and continued to send me abusive messages. I reported the messages but the admins has decided her messages are not abusive and has decided to take no action. Naturally I'm not posting any more. I can't see why the admins have decided to not take any action against the user. She's clearly not in a good headspace for an online presence and the forums and the outlet she has chosen for her outbursts, I can't see how allowing the poster to continue is going to help her. The users posts definitely are trying to engage in a fight. I never had any interaction with the user on the forums by the way and she has zoned in on me.

I checked my email that I used on the other forum and I got a emails from the forum to notify me of PMs and they were sent from the same user early this morning. The PMs were sent all throughout the night. The person thinks I'm her ex and she clearly can't sleep in anger. I didn't read the latest PMs and I'm not going to click on them but the previous PMs were angry, insulting and abusive.

You could publicly post on the forum and say you are being harassed by someone who thinks you are her ex, (or name her) but she has made a mistake and you are not going to interact with her.

Then change your username on the forum in question.

Is there no option to block?

MerinoFroggie · 20/01/2021 12:55

There's no block button.

I'm not clicking on the PMs to read them anymore. There's been several more sent over the course of the morning. It's crazy.
