DS is in Y2, DH and I are working from home and we also have a preschooler at home. DH and I are trying to work shifts so we can have dedicated time to supervise the DCs but sometimes I need to attend meetings/answer emails during my time with the DCs.
The DCs got tablets for Christmas and the combination of this + lockdown means screen time is just out of control. DS has online lessons of about half an hour 4x a day supposedly followed by completing a task independently. All he is doing is rushing through the task and doing the bare minimum and then picking up his tablet to play before his next session. If I try to get him to focus on doing a good job he gets cross with me because he is so desperate to be on his tablet.
I need to establish some rules about tablet use but given I can’t supervise them both closely continuously and sometimes need them to be quiet while I am focusing on work i don’t know how to be consistent.
Argh!
