That’s a very specific question! Members of my family were born there but not quite that decade...why are you asking

poppyrosecowslip · 19/01/2021 14:02

i am interested in chatting to other Mums who were there at this time, about their experience

I can ask a question if you tell me what it’s about?

poppyrosecowslip · 19/01/2021 14:09

thank you. its about the attitude to breast feeding at that time

i wanted to breastfeed my baby but it was a conveyor belt of bottles and babies. It still haunts me 50years on.

My mother did!

barberousbarbara · 19/01/2021 14:33

I was born there in 1970's. I was bottle fed after Mom's milk failed to come but I was on ITU for 2 weeks

poppyrosecowslip · 19/01/2021 16:19

thank you for your comments so far. still hoping someone can help

do your Mums remember the bottle feed conveyor attitude?

OP posts:
barberousbarbara · 19/01/2021 17:41

My Mom has dementia so it's not something I could ask or she would remember. The staff made a series of errors when I was born and discharged from hospital. If my partners had know what was going to happen they would have insisted on another hospital or gone private.

Comefromaway · 19/01/2021 17:44

I had my baby there in 2001 and was given very poor information about breastfeeding.

poppyrosecowslip · 19/01/2021 18:07

Thank you,yes errors were made for me too, you just get on with it at the time, but it comes back to haunt you and wonder how differently your life would have progressed. thanks all your comments are helping

If it had been another time then my parents would have sued but it was different back then. I've managed to live a life where I've been able to achieve goals my parents were told I would never make. As a family we have always focused on the positives and the negatives.

Unfortunately my mother is dead so I can't ask her. I have asked my dad who says he has no idea...

poppyrosecowslip · 19/01/2021 19:09

thank you stay safe,best wishes

Baby born there in the early 80’s. Mom breastfed for months with no formula added. Helped when needed.
