Clothes name labels **booooring thread, sorry**

DD needs new nursery clothes as she has suddenly shot up. Everything needs to be labelled (Inc socks )
Last time I sewed labels in but I seriously cannot face that again.
The internet has presented me with loads of options and I am weirdly overwhelmed... Stick on, iron on, laundry pens. Who knew that there were so many options.

Could anyone please recommend some that they have used and that I am not going to have to redo after s few washes?

I did warn you that it was a boring thread.

I've always used Stickeasys stickers from easy2name.com. They go on clothes labels, bags, inside shoes, water bottles, lunchboxes etc and very rarely come off. Although I think one of the few things I've never labelled is socks so can't vouch for how well they'd stay on those!

I use Stikins, but have also found that just writing on clothes with a sharpie is fine.

I use easy2name too - I got the iron on ones. They’re great - if they start to peel you can just get the iron out again.

I would just use a good ole sharpie. You won't easily be able to attach labels to socks (so just write her initials on) and everything else with a label can be easily labeled with a sharpie.

Easy2Name have always stayed put through washing machine and tumble dryers repeatedly!

Stikins are amazing. They don’t look as nice as some others but stay put! I’ve also got a laundry sharpie which I use to write names in coats in big writing. Dodgy stealing at school a while ago...

Mine hate labels and 'scratchy' stuff in their clothes. I have resorted to just using biro or shrapies depending on what items it is. Works fine. Doesn't come off in the wash at all.

I got the iron on ones. You can choose font, colour and an image. Those labels go on everything! Coats, bags, hat,... They're great!

Will definitely be going down the Sharpie route for socks. It's hard enough to keep them on DD at the best of time

The pad has lasted ages and if the stamp starts to fade after a term's worth of washes (some fabrics hold the ink better than others) , you just stamp again. Plus the fact that we have an unusual surname means I only had to buy one stamp with just our surname on!

I sharpied DDs underwear on the label for Nursery but didn't really bother with socks..... if they got lost I just get another pack from Asda underwear needed because she was still occasionally having accidents

We've been through lots of choices:
Mynametapes iron in - fall off
Stikins - fall off some things. Good for shoes, DS orthopaedic insoles, water bottles, lunch boxes, the odd coat that you can't label with a stamp.
Stamps - great for those you can stamp onto.
Sew in labels - for those you really can't stamp or use a stikin e.g. some hats/gloves.
Socks for nursery - don't bother.
(Pants for nursery - don't bother either)
Gloves/hats - do bother - you may have to sew them in - but they will get lost once a day otherwise.

Loads of kids clothes is a nightmare - I say that as a parent and especially a reception class TA.
30 pairs of gloves, hats, coats, shoes, wellies 😱.
