Comforters / treasured baby or child toys - don’t last long

When my dd was a few months old, I bought her a Jellycat bunny comforter which she took to quickly. So I bought another one the same to rotate / wash them. 9 or so months later, they look raggedy. I do not think that they will last childhood.

I thought Jellycat were supposed to be good quality? And they retire their colours regularly. Should I buy a couple more the same before they retire the colour that her existing 2 are?

my kids comfort toys, look like horrendous old rags!

What I did was make one a bedtime toy, that lived under their pillow, and never left the bedroom, and intoduced others for other comfort times. So we ended up with several different ones. That way it wasn't a disaster if we couldn't find one.

Looking raggedy doesn't mean they aren't lasting, just that they've been well loved.

DS is nearly 5 and has had the same elephant comforter toy for over 4 years. It's only been washed a few times and is getting a bit threadbare and limp but it's still his comforter and works as a comforting toy should.

Hopefully they won’t fall apart 😬 my older dds had a Mamas & Papas rabbit (lasted years) and a Polar bear from the White Company and I had to sew his leg when dd3 was about 4. I just think that quality is gradually declining.
