Why can I not switch off at night and sleep at a reasonable time??

Can't seem to switch off at night these days and up until 3/4am every night then totally exhausted in the morning even although I'm having a lie in! Went for a walk today in the fresh air for a change, didn't help as still awake at 2am! Ahhhhh

Having the exact same problem. Thought it might be from being at home and lack of exercise but I did a full day at the office today and yet here I am!

3beesinmybonnet · 19/01/2021 02:16

If it's any consolation you're not alone.

Callcat · 19/01/2021 02:17

Ditto here. You're not alone!

FloorLamp · 19/01/2021 02:17

Yep I'm another one in the same situation!

newnamenewposts · 19/01/2021 02:20

And me ☹️

Skipsurvey · 19/01/2021 02:23

you are not alone but i have to getup at 6 and go out to work

Terrylovesyogurt · 19/01/2021 02:23

Same here. Haven't slept well since having a bad back about 4 years ago, but it's got extreme over the last few months.

End up getting 2 or 3 hours then feel rough all the next morning Sad

StormsDontLastForever · 19/01/2021 02:26

Sympathies to you all it's not a good feeling. All I want is routine & no matter how hard I try I just cannot switch off. Hope you all manage to drop off soon Smile

Same here! I'm so tired all day and could easily fall asleep when I'm supposed to be working, but when I go to bed my brain becomes wired. I got a SAD lamp to use during the day but it hasn't made a difference, cut out all caffeine but no difference either.

GoodQueenAlysanne · 19/01/2021 02:28

Same here.

rainbowninja · 19/01/2021 02:34

I'm not normally awake at this time but I've had phases of not being able to sleep, it's normally anxiety with me. Hope you get some sleep soon x

Monkeytennis97 · 19/01/2021 02:37

Here too. Worrying about a few health anxieties. It's poo this. Just started propranolol in the last few days, wondering if this has helped my insomnia.

Tr1skel1on · 19/01/2021 02:38

Same here. I've just had some night nurse in desperation

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 19/01/2021 02:39

Same for me, just want to be like a normal person, I hate being a night owl the world is not set out for people like us.

nitgel · 19/01/2021 02:40

Me too. Cant switch off at all. So many worries. And dh keeps farting in his sleep and it's truly vile.

Sunnysausage · 19/01/2021 02:40

Watching for ideas. I think part of it for me is having the DC at home all day plus work means I’m leaving other things (extra work, admin etc) to the evening instead of switching off earlier.

Thesecretlifeofadoggroomer · 19/01/2021 02:43

Same here!

UniversalAunt · 19/01/2021 02:43

.. also wide awake.

OldAndWornOut · 19/01/2021 02:46

And me.
I've actually been awake for whole nights recently and then had to go to work.

Ridiculous!

rainbowninja · 19/01/2021 02:49

@nitgel sorry that made me laugh, needed some light relief

HeronLanyon · 19/01/2021 02:50

I’ve just given up and had a coffee. Might manage a ‘second sleep’ but who knows. Did get to sleep around 11 but can’t seem to manage more than 2-3 hours before I’m wide awake.

Terrylovesyogurt · 19/01/2021 02:57

Sorry, that's really not amusing to you, but it really made me laugh Grin.

If it's any consolation, I've got DH lying next to me snoring for England. Sounds like a bear, can't believe he doesn't wake the DCs up Envy(not envy)

PainterInPeril · 19/01/2021 02:58

Yup! I went for a walk this afternoon thinking it would help me sleep tonight! Well, it didn't!Grin I can laugh about it now, but I might not be so cheerful in a few hours time!

BestOption · 19/01/2021 03:06

👋🏻 I was thinking I need to borrow a husband, a warm snuggly body sounds like what I need to get some sleep, but the reviews here aren't good.

I'm fed up of not sleeping properly & deeply envious of those who sleep well!!

Terrylovesyogurt · 19/01/2021 03:14

@BestOption He's a good egg really, very nice for warm, snuggly cuddles. I gave him a boot so he rolled over and it's silent again. Now it's too quiet so I still can't get to sleep Confused
