I suspect it's a stoat as we spotted an ermine one a few days ago disappearing into the garage wall which connects to the house.
Definitely sounds bigger than a rat or mouse, we get them all the time and this noise sounds like a cat running around playing rather than the scampering noise we usually get with rats.
Sounds like it's having a whale of a time anyway, but slightly concerned it's going to fall through the ceiling or something the amount of noise it's making.
Hopefully whatever it is it will go out the way it's come in.... but what if it doesn't.
