Jury Duty - Sheriff Court Scotland

Can anyone answer my idiot's question....I have been cited for Jury Duty and of course, it tells me where and when. It says 'you may be required to attend over several days'.
Does that mean that I am required for that single day, plus any additional days if the case runs beyond one day, eg: date says I need to attend monday and if case is short, I only need to go that day, and if the case runs over to the tuesday then obviously I'm needed both days? Or does it mean I need to be available all that week regardless...do you attend multiple cases?

I've been having a hard time working out what is the most likely thing required of me and I have quite severe anxiety (medicated) so feel like I need to know everything to be in control!

When I did Jury Duty, quite a few of us appeared and there were several cases. Some of us were chosen, some excused. I was chosen so I did the first day and then the trial afterwards which was an abuse trial. That lasted four days after the first day.

This was a few years ago now so someone may have a different experience more recently. The trial I was on was in Edinburgh.

You only do one case.

Your first understanding is correct. You’ll only do one case, so you’ll only be needed for as long as that case goes on.

Also bear in mind the jury pool may be the pool for more than one trial that week by which I mean you might not be selected on the first day but might still need to be available the following day for selection for a different trial. They often have a number you can check the night before to see if you need to attend on any given day.
