You can learn to do anything by watching YouTube videos!

OK - I suppose not everything. I am not a natural DIY'er but by following instructions on you tube, I have:

Changed a car battery
Changed a battery on a tablet
Changed a broken laptop screen
Replaced the washing machine belt (although I will never do that again)
Built an outside pizza oven

I'm amazed at the zillions of "how to" videos on there. Does anyone else find YouTube as incredibly handy as me? Anyone else had successes?

I love YouTube for how to advice. I have done simple fixes on household appliances, various IT related things etc.

Oh - here's one I still can't do, even after watching several videos: fold fitted sheets.

Totally agree OP, a few years ago whilst on mat leave, with the aid of several YouTube videos, I taught myself how to build and decorate a fantastic birthday cake (to professional standards, even if I do say so myself 😁) for my elder daughter's birthday party. It was such a sense of achievement! And now I have a new appreciation for the time, effort and cost that goes into these things, I really understand the professionals charges.
I'm now in a full time keyworker role with 4 kids and I've not been bored by lockdown, quite the reverse. But if I was, this is what I'd be doing with my time; browsing Pinterest for lovely artsy things to make, then tracking down all the YouTube videos to help me do it properly. I'll probably end up doing this in my retirement when I realise that I can't afford the 4x cruises a year I'd like to be able to go on. Think I'll be just as happy 😊
