Help me prove I’m not MLM!

Hi hive mind, I’m hoping for help. Back in September I started up my own business as an independent career coach. I’d previously worked in corporate HR and done a lot of coaching as a manager and in running development schemes, and it was always my favourite part of my job, so it was an easy decision.

I’m an accredited coach, registered for tax, unaffiliated with any company of any sort. Yet when I advertise, or talk about my job online, I will always get a small but consistent minority of people who will comment and who refuse to believe I’m not MLM. And I just don’t know what to do about it - it feels like the more I say I’m not MLM or anything like it, the more sceptical these people become. And I’m worried that people who otherwise might be interested in my services are going to be put off because they’ll believe the comments from the people who somehow think I’m related to an MLM.

I’ll be honest, I don’t know what to do. To make things worse, I’m not keen on MLMs on a personal level! I’m really clear about what I’m offering and not secretive at all.

Help a woman out here - what could I do to persuade people that I’m not involved or affiliated with MLM/network marketing? I’m at my wits’ end!

When you are posting can you give the details up front, name of company, what you do and costs. Along with your accreditation details.

Mlms are usually vague and evasive.

That’s what I’ve been doing! I look back at my ads and think they’re really clear 😔 I give all the specifics and still I get “yeah right MLM” from these people. It’s worrying as, being so new, I don’t want these people to put off potential genuine clients.
