Clothes / weight change / de cluttering

My New Years resolution is to de clutter, and sort out the last room of our house my bedroom

However over the last 14 years I have fluctuated from a size 14 to 22 ( inc 3 pregnancies) so I have a ridiculous amount of clothes in different sizes and I am embarrassed to say this but quite a lot of clothes that are new with tags which I was going to get into one day. I have lost weight and tend to yo yo.

Whilst it's a lot of clothes it's usually the same thing In different sizes for example jeans or blue shorts x 4 pairs in size 14/16/18/20

We really need to declutter as i have so much stuff but what I try and tell my self and my husband is that so much is in different sizes.

We also have hardly no loft space due to a loft conversion

Any suggestions before my dh leaves me (joking) and please don't suggest Marie Kondo as i openly admit i am a horder Blush

That’s so hard op. My weight fluctuates also and I find it very hard to let clothes go which aren’t the right size right now, because they might be in the future. I wish I knew the answer, although I suppose I do really, it’s being consistent with weight but it’s not always as simple as that

You sound exactly the same as me, OP! I went through everything, and kept 1/2 bits from each size so I could check how I was doing weight loss wise.
I had found that some bits seemed dated- trouser legs were much wider 12 years ago, and always full length where now I prefer straight or tapered fit in a 7/8 length, so that made it easier to get rid.
I also told myself that if I did actually lose the weight, I would be entitled to shop for my new figure, rather than make do with some stuff I liked a decade ago!
I put some stuff on eBay, and anything I sold I just kept the cash aside to find my weight loss wardrobe.
Also, in my pre children job I had to dress professionally, so had a lot of trouser suits and smart tops. Now, I either wear scrubs or jeans and a Breton top, so there was really no need to have a choice of 20 different work tops! Good luck!
