Life Insurance- any recommendations?

I've tried looking online and have found that all the sites just hound you with calls and frankly, after speaking to a couple of them, it just feels like intense salesmanship and that totally puts me off.

Can anyone recommend a provider and help with what sort of cover is best to include? I want to be prepared, but discussing this with providers directly it appears I need cover for every miniscule eventuality!!

Neither dh and I have any pre existing medical issues. We have small dc (over 5yo tho) and a mortgage so ideally need something to cover at least the house if things go bad.

We both have Death in Service with work which is a healthy figure, hence why we have been lax about this up to now. I know we need to get it sorted, but the thought of being given a Hard Sell and being talked into loads of add one makes me super anxious.

Unfortunately choosing life insurance is a bit of a long-winded process and there isn't really a way around the sales questions.

The only thing I would suggest is looking at company reviews and making a decision based on those. I was looking up reviews for Churchill's life insurance when I came across this website www.comparebyreview.com/life-insurance/

I ending up going with LV because it was a bit cheaper but still had really good cover. They still tried to upgrade me where they could but other than that I couldn't knock it.

Hope this helps!
