Hotel Quarantine

At last the Government is discussing hotel quarantine for arrivals into UK like so many countries already do, to pre ovens the new strains coming Into this country and undermining the vaccination programmes. This is something that I feel should have been done from the beginning of the pandemic in March, but better late than never. Why are we always too late with our measures? Are we just indecisive?

I agree. We have been very slow to put appropriate measures in place.

I should add, they now opted for a negative cv19 test 72 hour prior to departure, lockdown and mass vaccinations for almost everyone. There is also discussion of closing the airport for 2 weeks as a fire breaker.

Friend of mine caught Corona Virus while on a business trip to Turkey. He was confined to hotel room, not allowed out, if he needed anything it was brought to his room and left outside the door. This is how it is done. Obviously cleaning measures for trays, cutlery etc need to be in place.

I think I read that the new Covid case in New Zealand is in someone who has tested positive after spending 14 days in quarantine!

Tory donors who live offshore most of the year want to be able to come to the UK. It would not surprise me if that is a factor as to why it has not been considered in any depth so far. Though the report that Priti Patel argued for it in cabinet in March/April I can believe to be an accurate one.
