What would you buy?

Out of interest, if you were going to, would you buy a Toastie maker or a Panini press?

Nostalgia is making me crave a proper cheese and ham toastie but a friend said they are 'old fashioned' and I should buy a panini press!
Surely a panini press isn't going to be the same?

Won't be out on the kitchen side when not in use so can't have a massive contraption.

Thoughts on this incredibly dull subject!

Personally I make toasties in the frying pan - I just butter the wrong side. They are lovelyGrin

Toastie maker...old fashioned cheese toasties remind me of my grandad, he used to make amazing sandwiches with nice prosciutto and plastic melty cheese slices.

It might be a bit smaller than a panini press too (as it'll be going in a cupboard)
