Boob or Bust

Anyone here tried using the Boob or Bust measurements and found it successful?

Over the last year, since Turing 40 - my boobs seem to be growing, I started off wearing 36D then 36DD and now I'm falling out of a 36E.

I put my measurements into the Boob or Bust calculator and it's suggested a 34H!!! Can this be right? I mean it's going down one back size and up 5 cup sizes. Measurements are under bust tight 34, under bust snug 35, standing 43, leaning 45.

I've order a few different sizes from Figleaves to try and see if it's anywhere near, looking at my boobs they really don't seem to be particularly large, so I'm guessing I'll probably end up sending them all back.

I prefer non wired bras and the ones I'm currently wearing - bursting out of are from Sainsbury's and the biggest cup they make is an E so that's a no, online most large cup non wired bras are nursing bras, can anyone recommend any non matronly bras without underwires?

I can’t help you with bra suggestions as I’m quite small but I have used the BOB method and am very happy with it. I was wearing a 34a or 34b and had no definition and the band would slip upwards etc. BOB measured as 30dd. Much better! Took a bit of getting used.

DownWhichOfLate · 16/01/2021 19:27

Oh! Also, usually you should be wearing a band size which is 20 more than your dress size. So a 34 band would make you around a size 14.

I actually did my measurements with it this morning and it has me changing from a 38C to 36G! I’m was horrified and don’t believe this can be accurate.

I was in Sainsburys today so I decided to have an actual look at a 36G and they don’t even seem to go up to that cup size (or they just didn’t have stock). I’m afraid I just don’t believe that I’m a G cup but I’ll try M&S when I next next to go in.

Many women swear by their accuracy so who knows - I could be completely surprised!

I tried it and the measurement was ridiculous and the suggested sizes didn't fit me well at all.
much too tight and restictive and no non-wired bras (which I hate) were available in that size.

Yes I am a size 14 so that sounds accurate.

I really don't want to feel like my ribs are being squeezed, I'm all about the comfort lol, I'm also not a fan of having my boobs right up under my chin, so I'm not sure what these bras that I've ordered will actually turn out like.

Fingers crossed I'm wrong and it changes my life!

  1. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it
  2. Read about sister sizes

I was wearing 38D and BOB put me at a 34F. I prefer a 36E so kind of split the difference!

I'm going to give it a try, who knows it may be revolutionary!

5 cup sizes just sounds insane though, I can't get my head around such a massive increase.

It's not quite 5 cup sizes
34H has a sister size of 36GG so 36E to 36GG is 3 sizes which is only 3 extra inches around the whole of your body. You did also say you were falling out of the E cup suggesting you need to go up more than 1 cup size.

Ansterdame · 16/01/2021 20:09

It does work op even though it sounds crazy. I was wearing a 36b before I realised I was actually a 32e. Best move I ever made!

dementedpixie · 16/01/2021 20:11

I was wearing a 40C and now wear a 36GG

The adding 20 onto your dress size isn't accurate for me as I'm a 20/22 which would give 40/42 and they would be far too big

DownWhichOfLate · 16/01/2021 20:14

Do let us know how you get on! Smile

MinnieMountain · 16/01/2021 20:17

It didn’t work for me. My breasts are not exactly pert, so leaning at 90 degrees didn’t give an accurate measurement.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 16/01/2021 20:18

It works for me. The 'add 20 on' doesn't work very well if you've got a narrow ribcage or shallow back. I am a size 12 and wear a 30HH, which is what BOB put me as. Before I was in a 32GG and it wasn't quite right; the extra back let the cup wires come up and dig me in the armpits. The smaller size is much more comfortable.

BogRollBOGOF · 16/01/2021 20:22

It's definitely better wearing a 30C/D than a 32B Grin It's trial and error for me particularly because 28/ 30 backs are about as rare as hen's teeth, but when I do get hold of a smaller back and bigger cup, I suddenly have boobs Grin

I'm hanging around for non-wired bra recommendations...

Does anyone have any experience with minimiser bras, please?

I want to try them, but I obviously don't want to waste any moolah if they don't really work.
