I have caught the reading bug over the last six month with not much else to do. Can I ask you some questions ?

If u have a book that comes in a series. Do you read the entire series one after another. I have enjoyed the first two from one series. But there are another ten. So I don’t want to them to become boring.

Do you stop reading a book if you don’t like it. I persevered with a book a few weeks ago. But no I feel I have so many others to read I shouldn’t have bothered.

Do you re read books? Annoyingly I have found some more from an author I like but can’t remember the first ones which I read years ago. But as they all link together I would have to re start from the beginning. That’s a lot of reading time.

Do you write down what you read. Or make lists in anyway ? I’m thinking of writing lists of ones I need so if I’m in a charity shop when they are open again I can make sure I don’t buy one I have.

Can someone have too many books to read ?

There is no such thing as too many books, only too few bookshelves.

series... one after another

Rarely. If it's a good series, it will probably be good in any order; some series, only some of the books in the series are good ones (not all in series are good ones).

Hell Yeah. I also happily skip to the end to see the ending, then skim back thru to find key plot points. Easily bored. I give up when endings become obvious/predictable/stereotypical.

Do you re read books?
Yes. If I think I can enjoy them. I don't habitually read 'old favourites' though, I'm easily bored.

Do you write down what you read.
No, I meant to once upon a time, but can't be asked.

To make sure I don’t buy one I have.
If that happened, then I would assume I would enjoy rereading it because it's fresh again -- why not.

I don't like long 'to do' piles. Up to you.

Russian novels, omg, you have to write down mini-biographies of each character or you'll never keep track.

I dont read all in a series one after another, usually a couple but then take a break or it can get annoying.

I do make a list for each year of what I've read. It can help for you to see if there's a theme you like, or to remind you the authors you enjoyed previous books.

Normally I try to get books from the library rather than buying them all, but that's not an option right now.

If you aren't enjoying a book, give up, you are reading for fun.

  1. No, I don’t tend to binge-read a series. I leave a gap between them.
  2. Yes, I would stop reading a book.
  3. Yes, I will re-read a book. Sometimes accidentally if I’ve forgotten I’d read it. Sometimes I return to them because I know I’ve enjoyed it before.
  4. Don’t make a list, although recently been using a kindle and that keeps a record.

You can never have enough books!
