Guess age of the artist

So our Dd is now really into drawing.
As parents we think these are really good, but of course we are very biased so we want a reality check.

What age would you guess for these drawings?

Thanks!

6 or 7, nice colours , and clever to think about the composition of a picture before painting.

Xerochrysum · 15/01/2021 20:04

If she is interested in creating story as well as drawing, maybe encourage her to create a book? There are many website like this.

Thanks a lot, @Xerochrysum, I will check that out!

My son was doing similar at about six or seven and he is definitely very talented. These are brilliant.

RandomMess · 15/01/2021 20:21

I love the middle one.

Makes me smile smile smile, the eyelashes utterly make it 🥰

Shesaysso · 15/01/2021 20:34

I would say these are way better than an average 6/7 year olds!

frustrationcentral · 15/01/2021 20:36

I would have said 6-7 but only because it was obvious by your question that she was going to be young. She's a very talented young lady! I hope she continues to draw, my youngest used to love to write and now aged 12 he feels he's far too cool for that SadGrin

Leah2005 · 15/01/2021 21:35

I think these are amazing for that age. I was going to guess age 10/11. You have a very talented daughter.

Anyonebut · 15/01/2021 22:11

Thank you all! I do hope she keeps it up and still enjoys it when she is older. Smile

Fab drawings 😍😍. Is she left handed. Left handers are always brilliant drawers for some reason. . Mind you there's no right wrong good or bad in art.

LizFlowers · 16/01/2021 04:09

8?

raspberryfield · 16/01/2021 04:15

Key stage 1 as it's not comparable with the lower key stage 2 art that I see.

notafanoftheman · 16/01/2021 08:09

Ridiculous to guess 5-6. I would have said 8-10.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 16/01/2021 09:13

I would have said at least nine. I too think very talented, OP.

Shesellsseashellsontheseashore · 16/01/2021 10:02

I was going to say about 7. I usually have a couple of y2 girls in my class who draw like that. I also have a lot of other children in the class who don't 🙂

wonderup · 16/01/2021 10:13

7, they are very good!

London1977 · 16/01/2021 10:14

10 or older. I think they're great.

wonderup · 16/01/2021 10:16

My 6 yr old is very artistic & it seems to come naturally. In pre school they could produce very good art work which surprised the teachers, wins lots of art awards now. My other dc struggled to hold a pen in pre school!

London1977 · 16/01/2021 10:16

Some of the people on here guessing 5,6,7. Ridiculous. You're just saying that because you think that's the age of the artist...

wonderup · 16/01/2021 10:18

I guessed 7 based on my own dc but that doesn't mean its average for a 7 yo, they are talented.

5 is pretty ridiculous though.

DenisetheMenace · 16/01/2021 10:18

Looks like my standard. So 55 😁

They’re lovely.

Picassosdove · 16/01/2021 10:30

Adorable pictures!

foxhat · 17/01/2021 00:20

I don't think 5 is ridiculous. My son has a friend who from a very young age was hugey talented in art. Quite out of this world to the extent that we have saved some of his pics as who knows what they might be worth when he is a grown up! I checked them to compare and he really was doing this sort of stuff when he was 5 but with a lot more detail on the people, so better really. What is clear is that your DD enjoys it as to put the colours all in like that takes some time and it's great that she has found something that she enjoys so much. I think the colours are lovely but when you look at the actual detail and the precision of the detail I think you can see this was done by a very young person. Nice though and would make lovely birthday cards for someone.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 17/01/2021 00:24

I would have said 10. There's a lot of detail, the expression of the eyes is brilliant.
