Mumsnet haircut

Has anyone done the Mumsnet haircut string lockdown? I’m attempting it tonight...I used to do it all the time year ago, and the ends at getting a bit split and frizzy so tonight’s the night!!

Fed up of the shapelessness and split ends of my fine straight hair I made 6 mini pony tails and, holding it perpendicular to my head, cut the same amount from each. (A ponytail above each ear, 1 behind each ear, 1 at the crown, one at the rear.)

The rather pleasing and surprising result was a longish sharp bob!

Both DH and 26 year old DS both noticed the difference (without me saying anything) and commented favorably.

Feel more lucky than skillful though so will be returning to the salon when possible.

Yes. i held them up/out at 90 degrees to my scalp.

@TaighNamGastaOrt Yep, worked fine thank you! Barely anything off the length but some nice long layers, and got rid of the frizzy split ends. Very pleased!

I sent my hairdresser a picture of the ‘cut off end’ and she was suitably horrified 😂 ha ha!

@TwoBigNoisyBoys yeah with my hair, its usually all thickness and very little length. I tried to thin it a wee bit. looks way better now, can wear it down instead of tying it back all the time!
