What do you silently judge people for?

I would say
Talking on public transport , wish they would be quiet.

OP posts:
Looneytune253 · 15/01/2021 15:59

@grool some might say the same about you though? You obv smoked when your first child was young is that not almost as bad so seems harsh for you particularly to judge

WorraLiberty · 15/01/2021 16:00

@NavyFlask

I mean in rl *@WorraLiberty* not on talkboards. Who are you, the grammer police? Grin
Grammar Wink

Everything

I can usually nail someone's persona and interests by way they present themselves. It makes everything impossible to avoid judging!

But if you want specifics, people who:

Drive an SUV
Own a hot tub
Think they've 'visited' a country despite never leaving an all-inclusive resort
Gin drinkers
Display even the tiniest interest in reality tv
People with zero knowledge of the world, history, science etc
Brexit voters
Conservatives
Posting endless updates on Fb of all the 'must be seen' places they've been
Thinking 'gardening' is paving over the entire garden with slabs/astro turf
Mongrel (sorry 'pedigree') owners of cockapoos, labradoodles etc
Anyone with a Live Laugh Love type motif in their home
Like football

Basically.... feckless, uneducated, closed minded, narcissistic show offs

OhAnotherNameChange · 15/01/2021 16:04

@Looneytune253 that's very true, although I only ever smoked when at work or after DD was in bed, I never smoked near her and she never saw me do it.
Maybe it is harsh, but now as an ex-smoker I'm annoyed and ashamed at myself for ever starting to be honest. It's another level when someone smoking directly impacts the health of their own child because that child is growing inside of you.

Holiday kids clubs, particularly parents that use them every day, whilst all the other children are having fun in the pool and on the beach with their families. It makes me feel very sad and upset for them.

Holidays should be remembered by children for being fun, feeling loved and the happiest of times not spent with strangers that have not been vetted properly.

Bagelsandbrie · 15/01/2021 16:08

I drive an SUV - it doesn’t really say anything about me except I live in the country and have a large family and a lot of stuff to take about!

Anyway..

I judge people who think they’re middle aged at 35 plus. It’s so tedious and more and more people seem to be doing it. I’m 40 and still feel “young”. I think people often get to a certain age and just give up. No one should ever just stop wanting to live, as much as anyone can anyway (I say that as someone who has chronic disabilities).

ginghamstarfish · 15/01/2021 16:09

Let's face it, don't we all silently judge others?

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 15/01/2021 16:09

Oh dear. I'm quietly judging some of these posts. I think I'd better leave

ChocOrange1 · 15/01/2021 16:10
@ChocOrange1 what age do you think is suitable for full time ?
For full time nursery, at least 12 months. I know of a baby in nursery 8am to 6pm, 5 days a week from 3 months. Too much in my opinion

SpiderGwen · 15/01/2021 16:10

Using viscous instead of vicious.

I get a really repellent mental image with that. Viscous gloop all over everything - gross.
It’s a common mistake but it’s like nails down a blackboard for me.

People who say they’re “crap at maths.”
You don’t hear people declaring they’re functionally illiterate, why is it ok (almost a source of pride?) to be rubbish at arithmetic? Isn’t that something to work on rather than claim as a personality trait?

People who think it’s clever to avoid taxes. A civilised society is extremely expensive. If we want to live in one (and I do) then we need to stump up for it. I worked with people who’d boast about avoiding this or that tax and I definitely thought less of them.

I really try not to judge other parents as I know how hard it can be. Saying that, I cannot stand tiny children sat with an iPad in front of them in a restaurant.

woodhill · 15/01/2021 16:12

On phones permanently in public and babbling on loud speak often with a dc in a pushchair.

FinallyHere · 15/01/2021 16:13

a member of our extended family is very quick in public to jump in, lay down the law and say 'no' to his children. He never sticks to it, they know he never sticks to it so they whine and whine and whine til they end up with more than they ever originally asked for.

I would never comment so I just silently count the seconds from the first 'no' to the inevitable capitulation. It never really takes that long but the seconds sometimes minutes feel endless....

This thread has made me realise that I also judge him silently.

rorjee · 15/01/2021 16:13

@ChocOrange1 I have to agree . My son attended at 18 months 2 days per week that's enough. 3 months full time is truly awful.

It’s Welsh, isn’t it?
BonnesVacances · 15/01/2021 16:14

People who drive BMWs, especially with personalised plates
People who have a canvas picture of their wedding day or family portrait on their wall
People whose home decor looks like a picture from the Next directory
People who wear flip flops in the rain or in winter
