Instant Coffee

What's the best instant coffee I can buy? I want something really smooth tasting. I normally buy Douwe Egberts, I just grab it without thinking, but there must be better out there.

I'm not asking for machine coffee recommendations, or to be told that instant coffee is shite. I hardly use my coffee machine, for various reasons. I just like to stick on my kettle and have a couple of giant, hot mugs of coffee each day.

Clipper Latin American instant coffee is lovely. Far too much snobbery about instant coffee imo. As long as you avoid all the Nescafe shite it's not bad.

First of all - sorry! This isn’t a machine recommendation but it isn’t quite what you asked for....but, have you tried Lyons coffee bags? No more effort than making a cup of tea (though you need to let the bag sit in the mug a little longer) but nicer than any instant I’ve tried...

Lavazza is ok for instant.

clipper or percol is the best instant ive found

Azera Americano is good. Lidl do their own version too which is good.

I thought the coffee bags were just a gimmick? Worth a try then if they do taste nice.

I dont rate coffee bags. Too weak and also expensive.

I used to used douwe egberts before we got our coffee machine and then our machine broke and we went back to it and it didn't taste as smooth
We have moved to an American cop show style filter with jug now - esp now we are both at home at all the bloody time

I'm drinking Kenco Milicano at the moment. I also like Waitrose Gold Blend. DH has a fancy machine, but I really can't be bothered with all the faff

Milicano is great, as is Azera.

Thanks, lots of good suggestions there. I'll buy a small jar of each and perform a taste test.

DH did have Milicano, but found it had way to much caffeine in it. He really enjoys Nescafé Gold Blend now. (Although with frothy milk from a frother to make a latte!)

Has to be Via by Starbucks, although they claim it's not instant coffee, you can just make it instantly

Lavazza Intesso is ok .
but the Lavazza Prontissmo Espresso is to be avoided -its a mirco ground powder so leaves a acrid aftertaste and slime in the cup,i always buy the frezze dried ones - bigger ground.
Othrerwise also buy ..

can i also recommend buying some Grom Vanilla Ice Cream to top up your coffee -but you need to save up as its £7.00 a tub .
and Grom Gelato al Tiramisu is divine .
waitrose are the only stockist but they do them half price sometimes.

I recently got some coffee bags from New Kings Coffee which were nice.

We have a machine, but I prefer really cheap instant coffee....generally Nescafé....

Kenco jar with the blue lid is lovely & smooth with a good flavour. As an added bonus you can drink lots of it without getting shaky or a caffeine overdose!

I bloody love douwe Egberts. We buy the dark one.

I use brown sugar crystals - lush

I like Tesco Colombian coffee and Lidl do a nice one too in a jar with a black lid.

We like Percol decaffeinated Colombian instant coffee.

I like Azerra and Kenco.... but i have decaf becuse i prefer the taste of it.

None! I can’t drink it, preferring fresh coffee in the morning and tea for the rest of the day.
Instant coffee tastes of burnt caramel and rusty foil. Ugh
