Am I completely out of touch with what does and what doesn't look good these days? (It's entirely possible that I am, I'm not exactly a dedicated follower of fashion).

The dress or the cardy? I like them both honestly.

I see a lot of American women in these dresses. Usually their account is very beige/brown. Maybe not all but the ones I have seen who wear these sort of dresses seem to have the same sort of accounts usually paired with an oversize hat with ankle boots or sandals. Reminds me of Mormon dresses.
